Alex Guerrero, MD, MSc, FACS
Alex Guerrero is a trauma surgeon based in New York City, and is one of the lead reviewers for Trauma Ready. He is the associate director of Emergency Surgical Staffing, a virtual department of surgery that provides clinical and consultative services to 10 trauma centers throughout the country. In addition to being an experienced clinician, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeon, he is the principal investigator on several large, population-based injury research projects in Africa. He is the first US surgeon to obtain a Masters in Trauma Sciences, a degree from the United Kingdom. His thesis was on the use of risk adjusted models for external bench-marking in trauma. Rick Buchler, MHA, FACHE
As a senior healthcare professional, Rick brings acute care hospital and large foundation group practice management expertise to every role. In addition, Rick’s insight in healthcare product marketing provides leadership in overall financial efficiencies. Rick possesses exceptional leadership mentoring skills, empowering leaders to effectively motivate staff in delivering their best performances while assuming greater responsibility. His particular emphasis on driving shared development and implementation strategies between physicians and administration achieves fast, effective best. Rick’s diverse experience in clinical care design and improvement processes, revenue cycle, human resources, governance, and community relations benefit any company’s breadth of services. As a seasoned lean facilitator, Rick has led 500+ bed hospitals’ multi-specialty groups to effectively engage immediate results with sustained improvements—utilizing his lean/six sigma black belt skills where necessary. He is a presenter of metric and strategy development, staff growth and relations, and patient satisfaction improvement at national conferences. Rick has an undergraduate degree from Oregon State University, a Masters of Healthcare Administration from the University of Southern California, and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
